What Are You Currently Reading?

BeFunky-collage

💚 So This Is Love by Elizabeth Lim – I started this one on Sunday and I am already in love with it! It is such a good story already and I can’t wait to finish this one soon!

💛 Light Filters In: Poems by Caroline Kaufman – I’ve been into poetry this month, and although this doesn’t exactly help me with my Asian Read-a-thon challenges, it definitely helps calm my soul a little bit, which is what I definitely need right now.

What Have You Finished Reading?

The Sun and Her Flowers

💚 The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur – Like I said, poetry has really been my thing this month so far, so reading this on the first day of May was really nice. I actually enjoyed it and ended up giving it a 4/5 stars!

What Will You Read Next?

The Way You Make Me Feel

💛 The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo – I’ve heard a lot of good things about Goo’s writing style, so I can’t wait to pick this up next to continue on with the Asian Read-a-thon month!

WWW Wednesday #40 | 4/15/20

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a good week so far! Not a lot going on around where I live. Still adjusting to the quieter life, but everyone is still healthy and happy over here.

Now, it’s time for WWW Wednesday! This book meme is hosted over at Sam’s Taking On A World of Words page! Just answer the 3 questions below every Wednesday, and feel free to post your answers in the comments and of course check out the other participants and see what else they are reading for the week. What are you currently reading?

More Myself: A Journey
Blitzed (Playbook, #3)

💜 More Myself: A Journey by Alicia Keys – I am currently listening to the audiobook version of Alicia’s new book and I am really enjoying it so far. I love listening to Alicia’s voice, and hearing from her mother, Oprah Winfrey, and Jay-Z. I am hoping to finish this either tonight or tomorrow night.

💜 Blitzed by Alexa Martin – I also hope to get to this one tonight, and I know as soon as I really dive a little deeper into it, I’ll be hooked and probably read it within a day or two.

What have you finished reading?

I’ve been picking up reading, and then putting down books this whole week, so I have to eventually finish a book at some point this week right?

What will you read next?

The Honey-Don't List

💜 The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren – I am super excited and happy that I found this at Walmart. Once I saw it, I picked it up immediately and didn’t even take a second thought. I really can’t wait to read this as it seems like every single Christina Lauren book I’ve read, I have fallen in love with.

WWW Wednesday #39 | 4/8/20

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday! I am officially working from home now, which is great. It means I can finally work and blog/ schedule posts until my heart is full again. I have been getting A LOT of reading done so far this month and I can definitely tell a difference in my mood. I am feeling happier and more alive now that I am actually in the mood to read. I’ve been reading outside in the sun, taking it down by the water and reading while my brother goes fishing (we actually caught a catfish yesterday which was super exciting, and of course released it back into the water), but I want to keep up this amazing feeling by reading as much as I can.

Another scary note is that I have actually been sticking to my TBR? Who would’ve thought I would actually be successful with a TBR for once. So far I have read 3 of the books off of my TBR I posted on Saturday, and we are only on day 8! Ugh, progress people! I’m so happy to finally see some progress!

Loveboat, Taipei (Loveboat, Taipei, #1)
Love & Luck (Love & Gelato, #2)

💜 Loveboat, Taipei (Loveboat, Taipei #2) by Abigail Hing Wen – I have the audiobook for this one, so I will be very happy to get to reading this one. I have had a hold on this for probably about a month, and now it’s finally mine for two weeks to dive into! This book wasn’t actually on my TBR, but I don’t want to return it and then not be able to read it for another 6-8 weeks. I am sure we can make room for this book this month. I hope to read this today while playing Animal Crossing.

💜 Love & Luck (Love & Gelato #2) by Jenna Evans Welch – I read Love & Gelato back in 2018 and am just finally now getting to this one. I’m about 57 pages in, but still really enjoying myself and having fun reading it so far. Addie is definitely starting to turn out to be a character I will probably love, same way I loved Lina from book one.

What have you finished reading?

The Kingdom
Sabrina the Teenage Witch

💜 The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg – I completely devoured this book in 2 days. I became obsessed and I am just absolutely in love with everything about this book. The characters, the dark and creepy turns it was taking. Just an insane story that I pray will have a sequel or something! Just so I can dive back into this theme park again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

💜 Sabrina the Teenage Witch by Kelly Thompson, Veronica Fish – This was an incredibly cute book, and I am super happy that I was able to get to it. Also, really glad I put it on my TBR for motivational reading purposes. Also, I really love Sabrina and Harvey together. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

What will you read next?

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird
Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me

💜 The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver – I really want to get to this one! I read the first 30 pages and I can already tell it’s going to totally break my heart. I have a feeling this is one I will be getting to very soon.

💜 Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki – I just put a hold on this from my library and it says I should have it in less than two weeks which basically means any day now. Hopefully I can get to this since I have been hearing SO many good things about it.

What do you guys plan on reading this week? Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Happy reading everyone, and remember… STAY HOME! ♡

WWW Wednesday #37 – 3/11/20

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a lovely Wednesday so far. It is definitely getting a lot warmer and sunnier, and I am just loving the fact that when I come home from work, I still can enjoy the sunshine.

Before we get into today’s WWW Wednesday, I just wanted to update you guys on what’s going on in my life and basically why I’ve been so MIA. If you look at my blog, it looked like I really only took last weekend off from blogging, since nothing was posted… but actually I haven’t truly scheduled posts since Mid February. I schedule everything in advance which makes life easier, but when you either don’t have the time, nor the mindset to type up a post, it makes the task a lot more difficult and eventually, you run out of pre-scheduled posts.

Work has been absolutely crazy these last couple of months, and I am pretty much at the point where if I’m not at work, I just want to be at home cozied up and playing my game. So if I can’t write posts at work due to being too busy, and if I can’t write posts at home because ya know… I’m pushing myself to the point of exhaustion, then we are going to have a problem.

Reading is also sort of becoming a pretty difficult thing to do, and since I am not reading, I really don’t have much to post about.

So, basically I don’t really know when I will be in the mood to type up posts again.. or to read. I’m just kind of taking it one day at a time. If I decide to read, great. If not, oh well. Same also goes with posting blog posts.

Today’s WWW Wednesday is going to be a little different. I am just going to go over some books I hope to read this week and that’s it. I’m really not in the middle of any books, and I haven’t finished anything. So here is what I plan or hope to picking up this week!

What I hope to read this week:

The June Boys – Court Summers

The June Boys

The Gemini Thief could be anyone. Your father, your mother, your best friend’s crazy uncle. Some country music star’s deranged sister. Anyone.

The Gemini Thief is a serial kidnapper, who takes three boys and holds them captive from June 1st to June 30th of the following year. The June Boys endure thirteen months of being stolen, hidden, observed, and fed before they are released, unharmed, by their masked captor. The Thief is a pro, having eluded authorities for nearly a decade and taken at least twelve boys.

Now Thea Delacroix has reason to believe the Gemini Thief took a thirteenth victim: her cousin, Aulus McClaghen.

But the game changes when one of the kidnapped boys turns up dead. Together with her boyfriend Nick and her best friends, Thea is determined to find the Gemini Thief and the remaining boys before it’s too late. Only she’s beginning to wonder something sinister, something repulsive, something unbelievable, and yet, not impossible:

What if her father is the Gemini Thief?

Sabrina The Teenage Witch – Kelly Thompson

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Sabrina is a teen witch who’s struggling with balancing the double life of high school and her burgeoning powers. Newly relocated to Greendale with her aunts Hilda and Zelda (also witches), Sabrina is trying to make the best of being the new girl in town which so far includes two intriguing love interests, an instant rivalry, a couple of misfits that could turn into BFFs, and trying to save the high school (and maybe the world) from crazy supernatural events. NBD!
