My Christmas Wish List!

Good morning everyone! Today I decided to start making my list for ‘Santaaaa’. It may seem a little late to do this, but I have many things on my list that I want for Christmas. I don’t really think I have any big ticket items on my list, which to me are like gaming systems, a new phone, tv’s…. basically big electronic items. I think my biggest item on here that’s technology wise is my Playstation 4 controller.

Anyways, let’s get onto the list! ALSO, feel free to share what you may be asking for this Christmas.

Unfortunately, some books just aren’t meant to be… and this is a list that just weren’t and eventually didn’t sit well with me. As always, if these are some of your favorites, I apologize, but we all have different reading tastes, and this just so happened to be what my issue was. They just weren’t the right fit for me. Enjoy!

Books I DNF’d This Year| Blogmas/Bookmas 2019

Hello everyone! Another day in December, another day of blogmas. I am making my xmas list right now as we speak and am super excited to share some of those items with you during blogmas.

Today’s post is discussing all the books I DNF’d this year. I know I am probably missing a few, but I have DNF’d quite a lot this year and am ready to tell you all about them. Some may shock you, and some may not be as surprising. Let’s get right into the post!

With The Fire On High – Elizabeth Acevedo

With the Fire on High

I got like way past the half way mark with this one, but it just wasn’t gripping me at the time, and I found myself slowly falling out of love with it. I would love to maybe give it another go someday, but the more I think about it, the less I think I’ll actually get to it.

Pink Hair and Other Terrible Ideas – Andrea Pyros

Pink Hair and Other Terrible Ideas

I couldn’t even get past page 20 with this one, it was so bleh. I could already tell I was going to hate the main character and it was just a big no for me.

Goodbye Days – Jeff Zentner

Goodbye Days

Another one I got most of the way through but just… could not pull it through. It started to bore the crap out of me, and it wasn’t as deep and emotionally heartfelt as I thought. And I mean seriously??? A kid loses all 3 of his best friends, and you’re telling me you’re now going to try and get him arrested all because he texted his friends asking where they were at? Come on now.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill – Abbi Waxman

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill

Honestly, this was my fault. I thought it was YA, and it was not. Within the first few pages I learned that, VERY quickly and was so thrown off, I DNF’d.

I’m Not Dying With You Tonight – Kimberly Jones & Gilly Segal

I'm Not Dying with You Tonight

The audiobook was just terrible, and I couldn’t get past it. Would I try reading it in book format? Nope. Probably not.

The Cruel Prince – Holly Black

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)

I tried it, and I found out The Cruel Prince and I are just not a good match. Sorry! Don’t hate me guys! lol.

Again, But Better – Christine Riccio

Again, but Better

A lot of people did not care for this, and honestly, neither did I. It was a DNF for me!

On The Come Up – Angie Thomas

On the Come Up

I got so bored with this one! The synopsis should make it one of my favorite books, but it was just so dull! And at times, came off as fake.

Wicked Fox – Kat Cho

Wicked Fox (Gumiho, #1)

I just couldn’t understand all the different language and the references… I had no idea what anything was basically, and couldn’t get past the second chapter.

Wild and Crooked – Leah Thomas

Books I Wish I Read This Year | Blogmas/Bookmas 2019

There are just too many books to read, and obviously, not all of us are going to be able to get to EVERY book we want to/plan on reading. But I started out the year having a big list of books I really wanted to get to.. and now? I still have somewhat a chunk of that list. Here are a list of books I had hoped to get to at the beginning of this year, but just never really actually found the time to do so.

The Astonishing Color of After – Emily X.R. Pan

Strange The Dreamer – Laini Taylor

Something Borrowed (Darcy and Rachel #1) – Emily Giffin

Crazy Rich Asians – Kevin Kwan

Ready Player One – Ernest Cline

Turtles All The Way Down – John Green

A Gift Guide for Book Bloggers | Blogmas 2019

Hello everyone! I wanted to do this post since I am a book blogger and let’s be honest, I would like most of this stuff. I did a guide for book lovers as well, so definitely check that out, but why not make a gift guide for the people that love books so much, that they blog about it. Let’s get right into it!

(1) BOOKS!

Image result for belle reading

Obviously for a book blogger, books is a definite possibility. You don’t have to necessarily go out and buy someone a physical book. You can get them gift cards to where they buy there books from, you can make a date out of it and just give them a card saying you’ll be taking them to a bookstore sometimes after the holidays and include “good for 3 books” or something like that.

(2) Lap Desk

I own a laptop, and that’s what I usually use to blog with and honestly, sometimes you just don’t want to sit at a desk for sometimes hours and blog. I love bringing my laptop to the couch and cuddling with a blanket, watching The Office or Disney movies and just get a lot of work done. While I love doing that, it can be annoying trying to figure out where to set up your laptop. This lap desk pictured above I found on Amazon, and can support your laptop, mouse, and your cell phone all in one space.

(3) A Journal/Planner

Image result for erin condren planner

I definitely think this is an awesome Christmas gift, since we are practically at the end of the year, and even if they did have a planner, they’ll need a new one anyways. Planners are an AMAZING tool for book blogging, especially if you love to plan ahead like I do. There are a lot of planners out there that can be just what the blogger in your life needs. I love the planners from Erin Condren, a little pricey, but totally worth it!

(4) WordPress themes

This is a really nice gift, and I would love to be gifted this. Sometimes a blogger just likes the freshen up their site and you can’t always do that for free unfortunately. Giving them maybe a VISA gift card to buy their WordPress theme that is needed is a really cool gift, and it would probably mean a lot to the person you’re gifting it too.

(5) Personalized Desk Items

If you know you’re book blogger friend has a desk they work at, and it’s looking a little on the bleak side, this is definitely a good gift. I think most book bloggers have a work station or desk they work at, and let’s be honest, we are always in the need for supplies. A cute customized pencil holder, a name plate, maybe a frame with a picture of you and the recipient, or even just a really cute knick-knack you know they’ll be into. I found this name plate on Etsy and there are A LOT of customizable options.

(6) Stationery

Image result for poppin sticky memo ball

There is this awesome line that Staples has and it’s called Poppin. It is adorable stationery and every time I go into Staples, I am so interested to purchase something from that line. Come to find out, they have their own website and everything with a whole section to show off their office supplies. This sticky memo ball is so cute and any blogger would love to have this on their desk/work station.

(7) A New Camera

A lot of book bloggers I’m sure would love this gift. Even I would! Taking pictures is a big part of our job, and we need a good camera to do it. Camera’s can get expensive, so this may be a good gift to have a few friends join to pitch in and do it as one big group.

Welcome To Blogmas and December TBR | Blogmas 2019

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday and Happy December 1st! Yes, the year is almost over and we have some fun things planned this month. For starters, if you couldn’t already tell by the very obvious title, I am participating in Blogmas this year! Fun, right? I already post 5 days a week, so I figured an extra two days wouldn’t really be all that crazy to do, just for a few weeks I suppose.

I have some pretty fun posts planned for the holiday season that are bookish, and of course end of the year updates for my reading. I have been looking forward to this all year, I have been reading for an entire year, keeping track of monthly stats, for the simple reason of being able to re-cap a lot this month, so make sure to pay attention to that!

What is Blogmas you may ask? Well, Blogmas is the time in December where you blog everyday (or vlog, or BOTH) from December 1st all the way up until Christmas, which is December 25th.

Image result for cute christmas

Typically, you want to do Christmas-y themed posts, but we are rebels and won’t necessarily do that the entire month. I’ll still be doing WWW Wednesdays and Top Ten Tuesday’s guys. There will be Christmas themed stuff, but I’ll mix it up a little bit because can we really type 25 Christmas themed posts? No, no I cannot.

I am so excited for Blogmas guys and I hope you are too! Leave links below in the comments if you are also participating this year! I would love to read your guys posts as well.

Let’s get into the second part of this post now, my December TBR!

So I really don’t plan on getting too much reading done, since it is one of the busiest times of the year with all the holidays, blog wrap-ups, and it’s also the start of my busy season at work. As much as I would love to finish the Harry Potter series this year, I really don’t think it will happen. I would love to have at least started book 6 by the end of the year and finish the series at the beginning of 2020. We will have to see.

The Kingdom – Jess Rothenberg

and then hopefully… Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6) – J.K. Rowling
