Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Feliz Navidad!
Ugh, I just love Christmas. Gifts, christmas cookies, christmas morning breakfast, being with family. Christmas has to be probably my favorite holiday.
Today isn’t much of a post, I’ll be so busy today with family, cooking, and that’s what this day is really meant for.
I will be on a tiny blog vacation for a week, but I’ll be back on the 31st to give my December wrap-up. I plan on working on my giant yearly wrap-up during this next week and getting that to you guys in early January.
I hope everyone has a magical day! Merry Christmas to all!
Hello everyone! Another day, another blogmas post. I know this is going to sound totally random, but is anyone doing like a cool advent calendar this year? I’ve done some pretty cool ones in the past, but I noticed this year there’s a Harry Potter pop figure advent calendar???? Like what?! I have tried looking all over for it, but found nothing. I have always loved doing them as a kid, like with the chocolate behind each door, but as I grew up I guess my taste got a little more pricier haha!
Let’s get onto the books that surprised me this year! Both good and bad.
House of Salt and Sorrows – Erin A. Craig
I had high hopes for this one, but man did this turn out to be one weird f-ing book.
Unpregnant – Jenni Hendriks and Ted Caplan
I had such LOW expectations, thinking it would be horrible and cheesy and just have horrible… umm… events in it. BUT!, come to find out, it didn’t! I actually really enjoyed this! Definitely would recommend. Warning: It is humorous, but on purpose.
Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale of the Sea Witch (Villains #3) – Serena Valentino
I was LOVING this series, and then this book hit me. Like in the face. Hard. I was so upset, they did Ursula so wrong in this one. She was basically just a shadow in her own book.
Renegades (Renegades #1) – Marissa Meyer
I knew people liked this, but I figured I wouldn’t just because it has never been something I’ve been that into, but I love it and it’s now become one of my favorite series of all time!
The Perfect Son – Lauren North
This was an ARC I received in the mail and OH MY GOSH, so thrilling! Did not expect that from this book.
Wilder Girls – Rory Power
Was hoping for better. Just was way too weird for me. I think YA horror just is NOT my thing.
Sadie – Courtney Summers
I did not like this one bit. I can’t even remember anything about it it was so bleh for me. I think this might be one of the most surprising to make this list honestly.
Legendary (Caraval #2) – Stephanie Garber
I gave Caraval a 4 out of 5 stars, but when I read Legendary, it blew me out of the water. Seriously, if I could give this a higher rating than 5, I would.
Opposite of Always – Justin A. Reynolds
I bought this book from Target for $10, just because it was pretty, really had no serious intention on reading it and I read it and I LOOOOOOOVED IT! Read this! Read it now I say!
Good morning everyone! Today I decided to start making my list for ‘Santaaaa’. It may seem a little late to do this, but I have many things on my list that I want for Christmas. I don’t really think I have any big ticket items on my list, which to me are like gaming systems, a new phone, tv’s…. basically big electronic items. I think my biggest item on here that’s technology wise is my Playstation 4 controller.
Anyways, let’s get onto the list! ALSO, feel free to share what you may be asking for this Christmas.
Unfortunately, some books just aren’t meant to be… and this is a list that just weren’t and eventually didn’t sit well with me. As always, if these are some of your favorites, I apologize, but we all have different reading tastes, and this just so happened to be what my issue was. They just weren’t the right fit for me. Enjoy!
This Book Loves You – Pewdiepie
The Loose Ends List – Carrie Firestone
House of Salt and Sorrows – Erin A. Craig
Poison Ivy – Amy Goldman Koss
Puddin (Dumplin #2) – Julie Murphy
806 – Cynthia Weil
Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before #3) – Jenny Han
Hello everyone and it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! Today was supposed to be a freebie post but why not go off of a post we did a little while ago called Books That Give Off Autumn Vibes. I figured, why not talk about some books that give off Winter vibes as well!
This was an idea created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules basically go a little like this:
Jana creates a new topic every Tuesday to make your list, and you create your own Top Ten (or three, or five, or twenty, however many you choose!)
Link back your posts to That Artsy Reader Girl so when others read your post, they’ll know where to go to get more info about future upcoming topics.
There is a linky widget on Jana’s Top Ten Tuesday post so other’s can see your post as well as you being able to check out everyone else’s! So definitely leave your links!
Don’t be afraid to add your own twist to it!
This week’s topic: Books That Give off Winter Vibes
(1) Winterwood – Shea Ernshaw
(2) The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3) – Holly Black
(3) Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) – Maggie Stiefvater
(4) Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone trilogy #1) – Leigh Bardugo
