Changes That May Be Coming To Walt Disney World

Hey everyone! Today we are going to be talking about some of the changes that may be coming to Walt Disney World this year. It’s been a weird year for Disney, and as Disney plans to re-open in the coming weeks, there will be a lot of changes made to how the parks function. Universal and Seaworld have been open for a little while now, and I feel like it was smart of Disney to watch how their re-opening worked. Let’s get into our discussion of some of the changes that may be coming to Walt Disney World.

Increase In Virtual Lines

Disney introduces virtual queueing at its newest attraction

Disney isn’t a total stranger to virtual lines, and actually… it really worked well for them when Rise of the Resistance opened up. I personally was able to use the app to join a ‘boarding group’ for the ride and it was pretty nice not having to stand in a technically 5 hour line. But will this work for all major rides in Disney World? I can think of a few rides that this could be a really good change for! Slinky Dog, Flight of Passage, Space Mountain and more. I would gladly accept the virtual line change if Disney does decide to go this route.

Wearing A Face Mask Throughout The Park

Disney Introduces Cloth Face Masks and Donations for Families and ...

This will probably be a given when visiting the Parks this summer, if not year. This is the main number one reason why going to Disney during this time is a no for me. I don’t feel comfortable wearing a mask in Walmart for over 30 minutes. It restricts my breathing and is just super uncomfortable, so I barely go to Walmart due to that reason. Imagine being in a park for hours having to wear it? Woof.

Limited Amount of People

I think one of the most obvious things Disney will do is probably cap the amount of people that can come into the parks to a very small amount. This will probably be a route Disney takes since there are a lot of people wanting to come back.

Sanitizing Stations

Disneyland is closing because of coronavirus but Walt Disney World ...

Imagine you’ll be seeing a lot of these around the parks if you visit…

Character Meet and Greets?

You Should Not Miss Meet And Greet Of These Characters When You Go ...

I honestly don’t know how this is going to work, but I doubt Disneyworld will send out cast members with masks on. I just don’t think meet and greets will be a thing.

Sit In Dining?

33 Best (and Worst!) Disney World Restaurants - Disney Trippers

I just don’t know how Disney is going to do the whole dining thing. It would have to be seriously cut down, and buffets? Like is Chef Mickey’s even going to be a thing?? Are reservations going to be extremely hard to come by?

Social Distancing Markers

Social Distancing, Disney Edition (OC) Day 1: The Lion King. Stay ...

I feel like this is a given. Disney 100% is going to have markers everywhere to show where people can stand. Cast members will probably stationed so that this can be truly inforced as well.

Epcot Renovation

Epcot 'Reimagining' Details Announced - Disney Tourist Blog

My biggest fear from this whole thing is that the Epcot renovation is going to be completely messed up. I really was excited to see how this would all look, but unfortunately… I think a lot of cuts are going to be made to Epcot. *inserts extreme sad face*

What are some changes that you think may come to Disney? Any you are interested on how they will be able to keep it in place? Also, do all these changes make you less interested in visiting Disney? Let me know!

Disney Transportation Rated from Best to Worst

Hello everyone! It’s me here with another Disney related post. I have been loving writing these posts and sharing my love of Disney with all of you, so today I wanted to share some tips I have regarding Disney Transportation. Whether you’re brand new at traveling to Disney, or a every year visitor, I feel like we all have our preferred ways of transportation. Here is how I rank Disney’s transportation.

(1) Rental Car

Image result for disney rental car

I believe rental car’s are the BEST way you can get around Disney in my experience. Let’s go through the pro’s and con’s of getting a rental car

  • Don’t have to share with others – I love having my own rental car for the simple fact I don’t have to share it with a bunch of other random people. Like a bus.. on a bus obviously you have to share with others. In your own rental car, you don’t have that problem what so ever.
  • More space – Sometimes those monorails and buses can be jam packed and super uncomfortable. In your own rental car, you have enough space for yourself and the rest of your family.

  • They can be pricey – If you’re staying on Disney Property, a rental car can be a pretty big expense on top of your already pretty pricey vacation stay. If you’re trying to go to Disney on a budget, between paying for the rental car and the parking at each park, you can run up a pretty large bill.

(2) Skyliner

Image result for disney skyliner

  • Very quick – This is not one of those slow ski slope rides. The new Disney Skyliner is pretty quick and definitely great if you’re looking to get somewhere in a hurry seeing as it never stops unless for handicap boarding.
  • Beautiful scenery – There are some pretty great views you can get from these skyliners. Some views you wouldn’t be able to see unless you took the skyliner and the skyliner only.
  • FREE
  • Relaxing – When I went on these I really thought that it would be rocky and a tense ride, but it’s actually really smooth! It definitely relaxed me pretty well.

  • Doesn’t go to every park – It doesn’t reach Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, and it doesn’t reach all of the hotels. Some hotels like the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian, have better ways of transportation anyways.
  • Is it totally trustworthy? – I think so, but a lot of people don’t trust it yet since it’s so new.
  • Fear of heights – If you have a fear of heights this is definitely not for you.

(3) Uber/Lyft

Image result for disney uber

Also known as ‘Minnie Vans’.

  • Cheaper alternative to rental car
  • Drops you off right at the front entrance to the parks

  • You may have to wait about 5-10 mins for these.
  • You may get a horrible driver

(4) Monorail

Image result for disney monorail

  • Not many forms of transportation like it
  • FREE
  • Nice if you’re staying at: Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary resorts

  • Doesn’t reach all 4 parks
  • Smelly
  • Getting to be too old
  • Can take a long time to arrive
  • Very jam packed

(5) Disney Buses

Image result for disney bus

  • FREE
  • Available at every resort/park

  • Long wait times
  • Doesn’t fit too many people
  • Can be a rough ride
  • May take several stops until your destination is reached

Disney World Rides I DON’T Recommend

Hi everyone! So if you weren’t aware, I am starting to post more Disney related things on my blog because honestly.. it is good to switch it up every so often, and that is what we are doing! I still talk about books primarily, but Disney is a big part of my life. I’ve been several times now and I have a pretty solid idea of Disney and how it works.

So I’ve been to Disney about 7(?) ish times now, and I have definitely found some amazing rides that I must-do every single time. I’ve already published a post about this which you can check out here. While I have found some of those amazing rides, I have found my fair share of… not so amazing rides. Here is the list of rides that just… really don’t spark joy.

(1) Mad Tea Party (Magic Kingdom)

Image result for mad tea party disney world

Yes, this ride is a classic at Disney, and some may be upset with my opinion… but let’s all be real here. Other than the fact that it’s a classic, it’s cute and looks adorable, it isn’t one of Disney’s best ride options! If you’re someone like me, you love to snack at Disney World and this ride is not the best option if you plan on eating all day. I think the line is way too long for this one all the time, it’s a short ride, and it just really isn’t all that great. I think if it’s in the morning, your walking by and the line is short, then hey, why not do it. But I wouldn’t recommend waiting in line for this one at all.

What I Would Recommend: The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh (Magic Kingdom)

Image result for the many adventures of winnie the pooh ride walt disney world

A classic, but not so spin-y like.

(2) Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (Magic Kingdom)

Image result for space ranger spin

I’m sure if your going to Disney World with a little one, especially a little boy… I could see how you would definitely probably want to fit this ride into your Disney schedule. I get it, it’s Buzz Lightyear and who wouldn’t want to go defeat Zurg by shooting lasers at him and earning points in the process. I used to love this ride when I was 5/7 years old, but honestly the ride is in some need of renovations. The last few times I’ve been on it, the lasers don’t detect your points correctly, the shooters don’t move and sometimes it can’t even read your score! It seems like almost everytime I see at least 3 people just have to sit through the ride because their laser doesn’t work. Also, this line can be like an hour long and it is just honestly not worth it. Also, Zurg might scare some kids so be careful with that.

What I Would Recommend: Toy Story Midway Mania (Hollywood Studios)

Image result for toy story midway mania disney world

This ride is just like space ranger spin except… it’s not. The ride actually works, you get to use these cool 3D glasses, play kid friendly arcade games, and you get to see all of your favorite Toy Story characters, but just Buzz and Zurg.

(3) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom)

Image result for seven dwarfs mine train disney world

Guys, I am ready for the backlash on this one. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is ridiculously over rated. The line is always incredibly long for a ride that for me was an utter disappointment. I really don’t get this ride. I mean you have to wake up 60 days before you go to Disney and try and get a fastpass, just for this very quick, very lackluster ride. I think there isn’t enough themeing, you see the dwarf’s once and you go fast for a little bit but that’s about it. You see snow white at the end for about a half a second and then bam, your done. You waited 2 and a half hours to be tossed around for about 45 seconds.

What I Would Recommend: Slinky Dog Dash (Hollywood Studios)

Image result for slinky dog dash

It’s smooth, a lot longer, and has incredible themeing. 10/10 in my books.

(4) Star Tours – The Adventure Continues (Hollywood Studios)

Image result for star tours walt disney world

Not that it’s horrible.. it just isn’t really all that worth it. The animatronics for the few that they have are good, but it just isn’t the ride Star Wars fans should be going on…

What I Would Recommend: Rise of The Resistance (Hollywood Studios)

Image result for rise of the resistance disney world

I cannot even put into words what this ride is. It’s simply amazing and there is honest to god nothing like it anywhere in the world. I can see why this ride wasn’t ready when Galaxy Edge opened, it’s that amazing, and the detail is just incredible. I walked off this ride with tears in my eyes it was just such an experience. I plan on writing an entire post on what I thought of Galaxy’s Edge, but for now just know this is the ride you need to get yourself on.

(5) Soarin’ (Epcot)

Image result for soarin' epcot

Here’s the thing about Soarin’… you need to know where to sit. Or at least asked to be placed. If you aren’t sitting in the right spot, the entire ride is messed up. The screen looks distorted, and the whole reason you go on this ride is to feel like you’re flying over some famous worldwide landmarks. Not to see the Eiffel Tower tilted to the side or a distorted jumping whale. Also, what is it with the jump scares now?

What I Would Recommend: Just Walk Around World Showcase (Epcot)

Image result for disney world showcase

If you want to see the world close up, just walk around World Showcase. You can get up close and personal with cast members who are from the countries they are in, you can eat amazing food and shop! Oh, and the Eiffel Tower in the France Pavilion isn’t tilted to the side.

Well those are my picks for Disney World Rides I wouldn’t recommend, and I even included a few that you should check out instead. Let me know some ride you don’t enjoy riding when you go to Disney either!

Disney World Rides That Are A Must-Do When Visiting

Hey everyone! Today I am in Disney! So exciting right? I have been looking forward to this trip FOREVER, and it is finally here!

I know this blog is mostly a book blog, but I wanted to start introducing some Disney themed posts to this blog as well. Other than books, Disney is a huge part of my life. The films, the parks, the history, I love everything Disney. So, since I am here today in the most magical place on earth, I figured we kick off my Disney travel blogging with a list of my favorite/must-do rides in Walt Disney World!

*DISCLAIMER* If one of your favorite rides are not listed on this list, I am not forgetting, I am not bashing your favorite ride, your personal favorite just doesn’t go on MY PERSONAL LIST. I would love to hear what some of your favorite rides are in the comments though! So feel free to comment away! Just don’t take it so personally.

Let’s get into the post!

(1) The Mountains (Space, Thunder & Splash)

Image result for 3 magic kingdom mountains

These first 3 mountains are the first on my list. These are the 3 iconic rides in the Magic Kingdom. They are Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. I feel like whenever I plan on going to Magic Kingdom, or really Disney in general, these 3 are the first rides I think of that I absolutely want to do on my Disney vacation. If I had to rank the three I would definitely rank them as (1) Splash (2) Thunder and (3) Space. All three are incredibly well themed and a definite must-do for ANYONE attending Walt Disney World, whether it’s a once in a lifetime trip, or your yearly visit.

(2) Frozen Ever After

Image result for frozen ever after

Now I am not a huge fan of Frozen, it’s actually one of my least favorite Disney movies… but this ride is pure magic. It is gorgeous, entertaining, just pure perfection throughout the entire ride. You basically are taken through the scenes of the original Frozen movie and honestly, I think it says a lot if I don’t really care for the movie, yet the ride is an absolute must-do for me. Also, the animatronics are ridiculously spectacular as well.

(3) Expedition Everest

Image result for expedition everest

Yes, another mountain. Mount Everest is actually in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and it is one of the best not just in the entire Animal Kingdom park, but possibly on the entire Walt Disney World property. Mount Everest takes you through the story of Everest and the tales of the yeti. Who knows, you might just see him on the ride too… maybe even destroying the tracks!

(4) Rise of the Resistance

Image result for rise of the resistance

Although it may be brand new, this ride has already taken Walt Disney World fans by storm. I am so excited to be able to do it this week as it is quickly becoming one of the most popular rides/attractions in Walt Disney World as we speak! I won’t spoil the ride for anyone I promise! Unless you want to be spoiled.. then maybe I will do just that!

(5) Peter Pan

Image result for peter pan ride

Peter Pan is one of the most ICONIC rides in Magic Kingdom. The waits are always extremely long, especially for such a short ride, but it’s your classic Disney Dark ride. You board Captain Hook’s ship and sail over London/Neverland to see all of your favorite characters/scenes from the classic movie. I haven’t done this ride in a long time, but when I have done it was easily one of my favorites.

(6) Spaceship Earth

Image result for spaceship earth

Spaceship Earth is another iconic ride, but in Epcot. This ride is the ride that basically takes you up into the ‘golf ball’ that is the Epcot Ball. I love the ride, unfortunately they are taking this ride away for a total of 2 YEARS to do some major renovations. I think renovations are definitely needed, but I’m sad to see it go for such a long time.

(7) Kilimanjaro Safari

Image result for kilimanjaro safari

YES! One of the best rides at Animal Kingdom besides Expedition Everest is the safari! You ride around in a truck through a really large area to see a bunch of animals and every single time you go on this ride, you can see a different animal. This ride is an absolute must-do for anyone and every one.

So that’s my list guys! Those are my absolute must-do rides at Walt Disney World! Let me know in the comments some of your favorite rides from Walt Disney World.

The Disney Book Tag | Blogmas 2019

Hi everyone! In celebration of being a few weeks away from heading to Disney World, I am going to be doing this tag for you guys that was originally created by Kat from Katytastic on Youtube!

Anyone of my friends, family members, acquaintances could tell you that I am a HUGE Disney fanatic. It’s in my bio on both twitter and instagram, and honestly, I feel like I don’t really spread the magic of Disney here on my blog too much. I saw this tag and just KNEW, I had to do it. Let’s dive right into it shall we?

The Little Mermaid – A Character Who Feels Like A Fish Out of Water

Eliza and Her Monsters

For this, I would have to say Eliza from Eliza and Her Monsters. Eliza definitely doesn’t feel like she fits in all of the time and wants to join her own little world, the world away from the real world… the one that she created online. This book was a 5/5 for me, and Eliza is an amazing character.

Cinderella – A Character That Goes Through A Major Transformation

Image result for nova from renegades fanart

I would definitely pick Nova from the Renegades series for this. In this case, Nova starts off as a villain, or as it’s called in the book, an Anarchist. To be able to help her team of villains take down the “hero’s”, she has to become a Renegade, what the ‘good guys’ call themselves. She is so against them, yet has to become one of them. Both Renegades and Anarchists see totally different perspectives on everything, so it is definitely a big change for her.

Snow White- A Book With An Eclectic Cast

Okay, this was tough for me to kind of find a book for this BUT I found one, and that book is Sheets by Brenna Thummler. This book follows a ghost living within this town of ghosts. Everyone in this town has come from previous lives and they have all died, yet all have come together to live in this ‘ghost world’. I really hope she makes like a prequel book or something diving into this world a lot more because it was just truly amazing to see this in graphic novel form.

Sleeping Beauty – A Book That Put You To Sleep

Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel

I hate having to say this but… Hocus Pocus and The All-New Sequel by A.W. Jantha. It just wasn’t for me guys.. I’m sorry lol.

The Lion King – A Character Who Had A Traumatic Childhood

I would have to say Cath and Wren from Fangirl are definitely a match for this question. Their mother left them when they were little for reasons unknown really, had another family and then were left to deal with their crazy, highly unstable father.

Beauty and the Beast – An Intimidating Read

My Lovely Wife

Definitely a book that really intimidated the crap out of me. It scared me, frightened me… it was just overall really crazy… but awesome! My Lovely Wife, totally would recommend it for the people that love good thrillers.

Aladdin – A Character That Gets Their Wish Granted

Undead Girl Gang

Not this was necessarily a wish, more of a summoning of a dead loved one… but either way in Undead Girl Gang, it was still granted.

Mulan – A Character Who Pretends To Be Someone Their Not

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

For this I’m going to go with Evelyn Hugo, just based off of how much pretending she does in her marriages. She get’s married to all these people just to save face, but yet won’t be with the person she seriously loves.

Toy Story – Characters I Want To Come To Life

Image result for caraval fanart

*waves to everyone from Caraval*

Disney Descendants – Favorite Villains

Image result for evil queen fan art

Well, my favorite Villain is Maleficent, but if I have to pick a villain from a book, it would have the be the Queen from Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen by Serena Valentino. One of my favorite books all based on a re-telling of one of my favorite Disney stories.
